Controller

Who is responsible for this site

Narrow whitewashed alley in Mykonos Chora
A static guide — no accounts, no comments, no sign-up forms

Visit Mykonos is published by the editorial team behind visitmykonos.city and is the controller for any personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@visitmykonos.city. We have not published a postal address; email is the way to contact us about your data. If that changes, this page will be updated first.

The site is a static guide: pages are plain files served by a web server. There are no user accounts, no comments, no forms and no newsletter sign-up. The only way to send us personal data directly is to email us. This policy describes the site as built in October 2026, and we will update it, with a new date, before adding any tool that collects more than is described below.

Data

What we collect and why

The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, time and browser details) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs to profile visitors. The log retention period is not yet fixed, and we will state it here once it is. Privacy-friendly Plausible analytics counts page views by domain: it does not use cookies and does not collect personal data about individual visitors.

If you email us, we receive your address and the content of your message. We use it only to answer you or to act on a correction, and we do not add you to any list. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run user profiles. External services such as maps, partner sites and any embedded content may collect data under their own policies once you click through.

Analytics

Plausible counts aggregate page views — no cookies, no cross-site tracking on our pages.

Email

Your message stays in our inbox only for as long as we need to reply or fix the guide.

Outbound links

Booking and map partners set their own cookies once you leave visitmykonos.city.

Cookies

Cookies, analytics and ads

Entrance of the Aegean Maritime Museum in Chora
Third-party scripts load only when we configure them

As of October 2026, Plausible is the only analytics script active on the site. Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense code is present in the site files but stays inactive until an ID is configured. If we switch them on, they may set cookies, this page will be updated first, and a consent step will be added where the law requires one. The same applies to Travelpayouts affiliate scripts, which are currently off.

Affiliate links, when present, take you to a partner site that may set its own cookies; we do not control those. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the guide works without them. The site's own pages do not need a cookie to read. This section is a good-faith description of the current build; if you see a cookie you cannot account for, tell us at hello@visitmykonos.city.

Rights

Your rights and how to contact us

Under EU data-protection law (GDPR), you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit or stop using it, and complain to your national data-protection authority. Because we hold very little, the main data is your email and the content of your message. Email hello@visitmykonos.city with your request and we will reply as soon as we can.

We will answer within the legal time limit, but we may need to confirm your identity first. To delete data, tell us which message or address to remove. We keep a record of a correction only as long as it is useful to the guide, and we will delete personal details from it on request. This policy is an honest working description, not legal advice. See also contact and about.

Common questions

Privacy questions

Does this site use cookies?

Only as described. As of October 2026 the site loads Plausible analytics, which does not use cookies. Google Analytics 4 and AdSense code is inactive until an ID is set; if enabled, they may set cookies and this page will be updated first. Partner sites you click through to may set their own cookies.

Do you sell personal data?

No. We do not sell personal data, run user profiles or keep a mailing list. The site has no accounts or forms, so the only personal data we hold is what you send by email to hello@visitmykonos.city and the standard server access logs described on this page.

How do I delete data you hold about me?

Email hello@visitmykonos.city with the address or message you want removed. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, then delete the data we hold and reply to confirm. Server access logs are not linked to your name, and we will state a fixed retention period on this page once it is set.
