The rhythm

How a Mykonos night actually runs

  • 19:30 Sunset drinks in Little Venice or at the windmills.
  • 21:30 Dinner in the lanes of Chora — book in July and August.
  • 23:30 Bars in Chora and around the Old Port fill up.
  • 01:30 Clubs: Skandinavian in town, or a taxi to Cavo Paradiso on the south coast.
  • 06:00 Sunrise over the Aegean on the biggest nights.

The beach clubs at Paradise and Super Paradise run a parallel daytime party from mid-afternoon — many visitors do the beach party, sleep, and come out again at midnight. See beach clubs for the daytime side.

Where

The three night-time districts

Little Venice bars lit at night over the sea
Little Venice after dark

Little Venice — the sunset strip

Balcony bars over the water, all facing west. Galleraki is the first on the waterfront and busy all day; Kastro plays classical music at sunset; Caprice is louder and younger; Katerina's i Scarpa are long-running alternatives. Arrive by 19:00 in August for a front-row seat.

Chora's lanes — bars until late

From Matoyianni to Tria Pigadia, small bars spill into the alleys after dinner. Skandinavian — three bars around an open-air courtyard, plus a disco — is a Chora classic for a reason.

Old Port and the Kastro

Jackie O' on the Old Port waterfront is famous for drag shows and sunset; 180° Sunset Bar sits in a stone fort above the harbour with views over town — book ahead for sunset.

Courtyard of the Skandinavian bar in Chora Chora

Skandinavian

Three bars, a courtyard and a dance floor — loud, crowded and fun from midnight.

Our guide
Klub Cavo Paradiso na litici iznad plaže Paradise Južna obala

Cavo Paradiso

The open-air club on the cliff above Paradise, with international DJs on big nights. Check the programme; big nights are ticketed.

Venues from greeka.com, theculturetrip.com and the venues' own channels. Bars change hands and line-ups change every summer — check before you go (October 2026).

Novac

Koliko košta noćni izlazak

Nightlife is where a Mykonos budget breaks. Cocktails in Little Venice and the clubs cost several times a taverna glass of wine, and big-name club nights charge entry. We do not publish drink prices because they change by venue and month — read the menu before the first round, and ask about minimum spends before you sit at a table.

Tropicana beach club bar on Paradise Beach Paradise

Tropicana

Day-to-night party on Paradise Beach — many visitors start here before Cavo Paradiso.

SantAnna beach club on Paraga Paraga

Santannafrance. kgm

Pool, deck and dinner on Paraga — a softer entry to the south-coast scene.

Save on sunset

Watch the sunset from the free ridge at Kato Mili, then go down to Little Venice when the first rush has left.

Eat before you drink

Souvlaki counters in Chora stay open late — the cheapest hot meal on the island.

Check the bill

Ask for an itemised receipt; pay by card. Call the Tourist Police (1571) if you are overcharged.

Sigurnost

Siguran povratak kući

A lane in Chora at dusk
Chora's lanes all look the same after midnight
  • In Chora: walk. Save your hotel's pin offline — the lanes are a maze after midnight, and the windmills and Little Venice are the easiest landmarks.
  • From the south coast: taxis are scarce and queues long after 01:00. Book a transfer for the return, or ask the club to call one early. In high season some south-coast buses run late — check the KTEL timetable for the night.
  • Never ride after drinking: scooters and ATVs on narrow, dark roads cause many of the island's worst accidents.
  • Watch your drink and stay with your group. In an emergency call 112; Tourist Police 1571; Mykonos police station +30 22894 41600 (astynomia.gr, checked Oct 2026).

The nightlife season

The full scene runs from late June to early September, peaking in August. May and late September are calmer, with most bars open and the big clubs on fewer nights. From November to April, most of Chora's bars and all of the beach clubs are closed; the island becomes a quiet fishing town with a handful of year-round tavernas.

Česta pitanja

Pitanja o noćnom životu

Gdje je noćni život u Mykonos?

In three places: Little Venice for sunset drinks, the lanes of Chora and the Old Port for bars from midnight, and the south coast — Paradise and Super Paradise — for beach parties by day and Cavo Paradiso's open-air club until sunrise. Chora's bars are all walkable from each other.

What time do clubs open in Mykonos?

Bars in Chora fill from about 23:30, and clubs get going after 01:00. On big nights Cavo Paradiso runs until sunrise. Beach-club parties start much earlier, from mid-afternoon. Each venue sets its own hours, which change by season, so check its channels before going.

Je li Mykonos sigurno noću?

Generally yes. The real risks are practical: overcharging, drinks left unattended, steep lanes after drinking and scooter accidents. Walk in Chora, book taxis for longer trips, keep valuables close and check every bill. Emergency number 112; Tourist Police 1571.
