Quiet luxury or party Mykonos?
Mykonos does both, a few kilometres apart. The party lives on the south-coast beaches of Paradise and Super Paradise and in the lanes of Chora after midnight. The quiet side is the villas of the east and north, long lunches at Kalo Livadi or Agios Ioannis, and the wild northern beaches on a calm day.
- For a calm trip: June or September, a base in Ornos or Ano Mera, Delos in the morning.
- For the scene: July–August, Chora, and the beach clubs of Paraga and Psarou.
- Culture: Delos, the Archaeological Museum and the Tourliani monastery in Ano Mera.

June and September offer the best balance: warm sea, beach clubs and boats to Delos running, and lower prices than July and August, when the French summer holidays fill flights. Late May and early October are cheaper still, but some hotels and beach clubs are closed.
